This post and the Skycraper technique changed my mind about how I approach SEO, I’m not a marketing expert and I haven’t ranked sites that monetize really well, I’m just a guy trying to get some projects moving on and I’m not even in the marketing business so I just wanted to say that the way you write makes the information accesible, even if you’re not a native english speaker as myself.
Thanks for the comment Slava good too see your team is on top of things and happy you liked the post. The website in the case listed was a client who has taken on an agency who was doing lower quality SEO work which was affecting the site such as the huge link network and a strategy which only revolved around mainly head terms. We saw no long tail integration from the old agency's strategy, so we were able to yield great results to begin with. The clients site has 100's of high quality articles which we were able to re optimize and update as noted. Further to this they had a large index of high quality pages to work from. Sure enough the points listed above were key elements to a far wider strategy which could be 100's of points. I just wanted to include some of the biggest wins and easy to implement points.

This method of boosting your hit count has existed for almost as long as websites have to care about hit counts. Many have called it a black hat technique. Many more claim it doesn’t work. Some in the seedier underbelly of Internet marketing claim it certainly does work. When you purchase traffic, you’re essentially getting one of three types of traffic.
Hello Mr. Miller, this is a great post indeed. I would like to ask, you suggested to cpture reader’s name and email quickly but how quickly. Should I grab it by showing them subscriber box as a pop up when they arrive at my blog or should I post this at the lower part of page so when they read the post and find it useful then they subscribe to my posts?

Of course it’s very difficult to read people’s intentions just by looking at numbers. The only real way we can try to find their intent is by looking at what they searched for to get to us (hurry before the number of logged in Google users increases!). Create a report of Organic Search Traffic ordered by Ecommerce conversion rate to see what terms are the most valuable. You’ll usually see some good long tail keywords you never would have considered. I would also sort by 0% conversions to see the keywords you may be wasting your time with. Remember to normalize these results by filtering to see keywords with at least 10 visits or so.
Use online dictionaries of synonyms like Reference.com to generate synonyms for your main keywords. Other similar tools include Thesaurus.com, Oxford Thesaurus, or Synonym.com. Even if you write blog posts for a very specialized niche, you should still be able to find synonyms that Google can then pick up to better understand and rank your content.
So, Google has accepted the reconsideration request, you can now move forward with creating high-quality link building and a content creation strategy. I see every one creating threads about great content marketing examples, but the problem is that most of the time these are big business examples. SME’s and start-ups do not have big dollars to do such things, so the next best thing is to is to create a content market calendar for your clients.
Pop-under ads are a lot like pop-up ads except that they appear behind the browser instead of obnoxiously covering the page your site visitor is browsing. Pop-under ads tend to be more effective than pop-up ads because they don’t hamper your experience with the site you are currently on. Users have learned to just click exit when a pop-up ad comes up. Pop-under ads can be viewed at a later time of the users own choosing, encouraging the user to give it a second thought.
If anyone tries to inform you building organic traffic is straightforward, don’t hear them. If you’re probing for a fast fix, I’m afraid you’re not about to realize it here. Building organic traffic is that the hardest work you’ll ever place in to your web site. thereupon being aforementioned, it’s conjointly the best investment of your time and energy you'll be able to create.
To sum up, by purchasing cheap web traffic you can improve your website's ranking in different search engines including Google, Yahoo and Bing. It will also help you bring about changes in your website and make it more attractive for your users and visitors so that you can generate more business for your company. What do these stats mean? First, these are from a profile I use that broadly groups types of content into single URLs. This site has over one million URLs, and I find most useful to categorize everything into types of pages (you can do this with filtered profiles in GA, which is probably the topic of another post). You can see the Index page of the site is how most people are entering by far. 22% bounce immediately, meaning something about the home page felt completely wrong for whatever those people were looking for. We’ll examine how to improve that number in future posts. You’ll notice a few popular blog posts have much higher bounce rates. These are the “Miss Untargeted” that are coming to your site for one-off content, but are probably not interested in buying whatever you are selling. It is interesting to note that one blog only has a bounce rate of 50%, indicating there is something about that post that invites people to dig further into your site.
The idea behind a web tracker is very simple and has been around for many years. Essentially you place a small piece of code on your website, when someone visits your website, that small piece of code is executed and the visitor's public details (ip address, browser, operating system, referrer, page title and url etc) are analysed and stored for reporting to you later.

So many great tips! There are a couple of things I’ve implemented recently to try and boost traffic. One is to make a pdf version of my post that people can download. It’s a great way to build a list:) Another way is to make a podcast out of my post. I can then take a snippet of it and place it on my Facebook page as well as syndicate it. As far as video I’ve started to create a video with just a few key points from the post. The suggestion about going back to past articles is a tip I am definitely going to use especially since long-form content is so important. Thanks!
I have always believed in good quality content, well structured and written in a way that isn’t just about promotional talk. Thanks for sharing this information with us, it’s always helpful to have everything written in a concise manner so we can remind ourselves now and again of what it takes to increase organic traffic. As an SEO consultant myself I come across websites all the time that are messy and still using tactics that have long been out of date. Having a successful website is all about quality content and links. I like it that you stated what the problem was and then how you fixed it for the client. Great article.
Cached pages are another huge problem for log file analysis this time resulting in a very poor undercount of visitors. Often your own local ISP will keep a cache of many websites you visit regularly. This speeds up your use of the web - unfortunately no server request is made to your website when this happens. And your visit will go uncounted. This does not happen with StatCounter with the use of javascript and a random variable each time.

This is a crucial area. If you do not have schema markup and rel="author", you are costing your business money. It is as simple as that. As an example, say I want to make spaghetti (pasta) for dinner I search for “Spaghetti Recipe” and instantly I see some great markup in play, but one competitor has no markup and no rel="author" they are losing business in my eyes. Wouldn't you agree?.

We did not use the Disavow tool as it was not around when we completed this link cleanup, but we all know it has been said that if you are going to use the Disavow Tool to use it with caution.

Step 2: Get cheap traffic quickly with PPC advertising. Once you've tested your site with limited PPC traffic, the fastest way to ramp up traffic to your site is to roll out a PPC campaign on a larger scale. Obviously, you should start with Yahoo Search Marketing and Findwhat, as mentioned above. But here are some more PPC engines to consider bidding with as you increase your investment:
PPC is the revolution created by the internet. You need only pay for visitors that click through to your site. This makes a great way of generating leads, due to the accountability factor. You create your campaign, target your visitors with keywords, and budget yourself by bidding on keywords. There is a wide range of campaigns spread out over a diversity of companies: smartyads, findwhat, kanoodle, epilot, enhance, looksmart, and ended up narrowing our focus to one or two well-known campaigns. The industry has few sources that have consistently brought us well-targeted traffic, i.e., Google, & Yahoo or Bing.
Organic traffic is the traffic you get when people follow links from a search engine results page and land on your site. Organic traffic contrasts with referral traffic which comes from links on other sites, and paid traffic, which is traffic resulting from ads. You can boost organic traffic by using content marketing, and by optimizing that content with SEO. Well-optimized content is more likely to get a high search ranking, and attract more clicks and traffic.
As you’ll notice, the most popular parts of these hotspots are bright yellow or orange. If the nav bar links or search field are blue (a much cooler, more subdued color), then there’s something about your site people are not finding useful, or they don’t trust. If embedded links in content are blue, that means visitor aren’t clicked. Why? It could be that visitors are getting the information they want right away and then leaving.
