Excellent post Brian. I think the point about writing content that appeals to influencers in spot on. Could you recommend some good, manual strategies through which I can spot influencers in boring niches *B2B* where influencers are not really talking much online? Is it a good idea to rely on newspaper articles to a feel for what a particular industry is talking about? Would love to hear your thoughts on that.
"Mobile is critical — Google has finally noted that more than half of searches are conducted on mobile, and this will only go up as computing becomes even more ubiquitous," Noah Jessop, head of data for Liquid PCH, told Marketing Dive earlier this year. "The shift to mobile is only going to increase — and unprepared marketers will be left trying to catch up."
Like you I am a scientist and like you did in the past, I am currently working on translating great scientific literature into tips. In my case it’s child development research into play tips for parents. I can already see that the outcome of my experiment is going to be the same as yours. Great content but who cares. I hadn’t even thought about my key influences. I know some important ones, but don’t see how they would share my content. I thought I was writing content for my potential customers. Is your SEO that works course the same as the content that gets results course? Sorry if I sound a bit dim asking that question.

I personally have founded several online businesses and eCommerce shops over the last years. When I started out, I thought that the best way to be successful would be to get a lot of traffic to your site. I therefore started investing loads of time on social media and tried out many different apps (I also looked into agencies but they tend to be pretty expensive), which run ad campaigns on Google, Bing and Facebook.
As a website owner it's important to regularly review your streams of traffic. You want to be in the know if any channels are growing or declining at an unusual rate, especially when it comes to your organic traffic. So if you're interested in learning more about how we can help you increase the amount of daily visits your website receives feel free to contact us for more information about our white hat SEO services.
You want your request to be thorough and professional. If you can present a persuasive argument for why the link request benefits both of you, you stand a better chance of forging a connection. And if you're really eager to get your link on their site, be prepared to up the ante by offering them a commission or a link on your site in return. The investment could be well worth the extra exposure your marketing message receives.
Hey Kosta! As a fashion blogger myself, I totally understand where you’re coming from! I think a great way to incorporate the tips Ramsay uses here is by trying to find a way that you can use your outfit shoot to help/give suggestions to your readers–tips on layering, pattern clashing–that way the post is also more likely to be shared! (well that is at least in my own experience!).
Reviews of bought traffic sellers are all over the place, including the ones you’ll find on this site. Before you buy traffic to your site, it’s always a good idea to check what others who have already done the same thing think about the seller. It’s also important to not pay too much attention on things like star ratings. Instead, really look at the praises and complaints, and try to see if they have any merit.

Overall, these were ten of the key elements which assisted our client in reaching this growth in organic SEO traffic. I hope this guide/case study can assist webmaster's who have been targeted by recent updates over the last 12 months. If you want to learn more about these tactics or have any questions feel free to contact me via Twitter @ https://twitter.com/connections8 or leave a comment below!
Even though traffic is intrinsically tied to conversation rates, it seems that too many people have a lot of misunderstandings regarding the relationship between these two aspects. For one thing, the size of the traffic you get does not matter If it doesn’t lead to the kind of conversion rate you need. If you really want to earn money from the visitors coming to your site, they need to be of high quality.
Not sure exactly why, perhaps I used a number too big and since my page is about classifieds, it probably seemed too much to browse through 1500 ads, I assume? Somewhat like you would post 800 tips for better ranking? Don’t know, will try to change things a bit and see how it goes, but you really gave me some new suggestions to go for with this article. Thanks again 🙂

First, I will show you a quick snapshot of the traffic uplift, which yielded an additional 400,000 unique visitors from organic search traffic on a monthly basis. Then I will explain to you the steps in which we took to get the client to this level. I have also tried to keep this quite general so everyone can adapt their own situation to this case study.

Pop-under ads are a lot like pop-up ads except that they appear behind the browser instead of obnoxiously covering the page your site visitor is browsing. Pop-under ads tend to be more effective than pop-up ads because they don’t hamper your experience with the site you are currently on. Users have learned to just click exit when a pop-up ad comes up. Pop-under ads can be viewed at a later time of the users own choosing, encouraging the user to give it a second thought.
Hi , the post is really nice , and it made me think if our current strategy is ok or not , 2 things are important " High quality content strategy " and " Good quality Links " now joining those correctly can pose some real challenges , say if we have n no of content writers who are writing for couple of websites, to be generic let’s consider , 1 writer @ 1 website . We have to write make a content strategy for in-house blog of the website to drive authentic traffic on it and a separate content strategy for grabbing  links from some authentic High PR website i.e. CS should be 2 ways , In-house / Outhouse .
A web tracker also records your visitors if they return to the same page twice or more. This does not happen with log files. Your page would be already cached in your browser. No request would be sent to the server. That user activity would go unreported. Thanks to web trackers and their use of a random javascript number - your counter is forced to load each time and your visitor is tracked.

Also I have a question–I know that you and most other rad blog-help blogger are always pushing for wordpress. I am currently on my own domain name using Blogger and I don’t really want to go through the huge mess of moving to wordpress when I don’t really feel like it would help me that much…but a lot of these SEO plugins that you mentioned are only relevant to wordpress–is there anything you would recommend for people on Blogger? Or do you think it’s really worth the pain of moving my blog over to another platform?

Yep and sometimes it’s just being a little creative. I’ve started a little blog on seo/wordpress just for fun actually… no great content on it like here though… but because the competition is so tough in these niches I decided to take another approach. I created a few WordPress plugins that users can download for free from wordpress.org… and of course these link to my site so this gets me visitors each day.
Last month, in an effort to get a better sense of how Google’s advertising partners are doing, we did an analysis of 11 million mobile ads’ landing pages spanning 213 countries.5 That analysis confirmed our thesis: Even as most traffic is now occurring on 4G instead of 3G,6 the majority of mobile sites are still slow and bloated with too many elements.

What do these stats mean? First, these are from a profile I use that broadly groups types of content into single URLs. This site has over one million URLs, and I find most useful to categorize everything into types of pages (you can do this with filtered profiles in GA, which is probably the topic of another post). You can see the Index page of the site is how most people are entering by far. 22% bounce immediately, meaning something about the home page felt completely wrong for whatever those people were looking for. We’ll examine how to improve that number in future posts. You’ll notice a few popular blog posts have much higher bounce rates. These are the “Miss Untargeted” that are coming to your site for one-off content, but are probably not interested in buying whatever you are selling. It is interesting to note that one blog only has a bounce rate of 50%, indicating there is something about that post that invites people to dig further into your site.
Thanks for the comment Slava good too see your team is on top of things and happy you liked the post. The website in the case listed was a client who has taken on an agency who was doing lower quality SEO work which was affecting the site such as the huge link network and a strategy which only revolved around mainly head terms. We saw no long tail integration from the old agency's strategy, so we were able to yield great results to begin with. The clients site has 100's of high quality articles which we were able to re optimize and update as noted. Further to this they had a large index of high quality pages to work from. Sure enough the points listed above were key elements to a far wider strategy which could be 100's of points. I just wanted to include some of the biggest wins and easy to implement points.

Although Google is the number one source of traffic online, they are not the only one. There are literally thousands of ways to get online traffic and being able to find the right ones, and eliminate the wrong ones will save you a lot of time and money. Lets start out with a small list of places to purchase online traffic and a brief explanation on each one.
Holy Engagement! This was an awesome post, full of great info… and then I realized that 3/4 of the actual page was comments… which is even better for shares, SEO and overall engagement. I was lucky enough to attend an event where Neil Patel was giving some great blogging training and a lot of what you covered was there. https://www.thatbloggingthing.com/69-blogging-secrets-i-stole-from-neil-patel/ The simple fact that you comment back is awesome.
Here’s the good news. Since we looked at mobile page speeds last year, the average time it takes to fully load a mobile landing page has dropped by seven seconds.1 The bad news is that it still takes about 15 seconds, according to our new analysis. That’s far too slow when you consider that 53% of mobile site visits leave a page that takes longer than three seconds to load.2
We have direct access to millions of visitors daily thanks to our large publisher network. When you buy traffic for your website on our network we serve your page directly to these visitors using selective targeting. Part of the problem lies with ads on mobile. Mobile ads take an average of five seconds to load — about double the time it takes for desktop ads, according to research by the Media Ratings Council. Research from Adobe also found that 80% of marketers don’t have a mobile strategy in place for the next year — a serious point of concern considering that mobile devices now make up 57% of all time spent on digital media, according to comScore.
